The 127th does the Iron Chef!

The members of Daniel's Foreign Service orientation class all became really good friends during their time together and still get together a lot. One of the things that they do is have a farewell party each month for all those who are heading off to post. For the month of September they had an Iron Chef party. The two teams, consisting of three people per team, went to head to head for the title. While the rest of us hung out and ate, these guys slaved away in the kitchen. Once their time was up they had made the most beautiful and delicious dishes - I was stunned! Charged with the task of making an appetizer, entree and desert with the secret ingrediant (which turned out to be squash) both of these teams turned out restaurant worthy plates. Check it out...

The unvieling of the secret ingrediant: squash!!

Smelling good!

Three dazzling ladies! (Dory, Rachel & Alicia)

The 3 dishes from team one (Will, Anna, Chris). Unfortunately, things got kinda of hectic in the kitchen and I wasn't able to snag pics of team two's handiwork (Carrie, Laura, Victoria) without getting in the way.

Taking notes...

As a surprise the judges came up with and additional 3 tasks for the teams: a toast, a "composure under fire" grilling, and a joke. Here is Will telling his joke...
