Once I was packed up I had 10 days to get to D.C. so I took the opportunity to visit my friend Ashley. Ash and I have been great friends since we were four years old and it had been a few years since I had had a chance to visit her in Georgia. We had a FANTASTIC time- hiking, going to the symphony, road trips to Florida. Here are some pics…
(Uptown girls in downtown Atlanta- Ash and I at the symphony)

(Hiking at Sweetwater- a closeup on Ashley as we set out)

(we got lost hiking - hence the sad face)
(The "Big Chicken" - a local landmark)
(We're off on our roadtrip to sunny Florida)
(hee, hee - I had only ever heard of a piggly wiggly in "Driving Miss Daisy". As we stood there to take pictures locals started to gather in front of the store to see what these crazy girls were doing)

(After arriving in Florida - Destin to be exact - we drove around some, settled in our motel and then went back to the beach for a stroll)

(The next day we headed back to the beach. It was a beautiful day!! We read, slept and did some wave surfing. It was sooo much fun! We even saw some dolphins!)
(Just like old times - making chocolate chip cookies. Ashley takes a sample...)
(This is Angie. She is a friend of Ashley's - and now mine. :) She was such a blast! I'm so glad to have been able to meet her.)
